Terms of Use
The terms that govern your use of the Sector3 ecosystem and your Sector3 Passport.
About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Sector3 ecosystem — including the AKAARA, VAKA and ĀTINGA platforms — and your Sector3 Passport. By creating a Passport, applying for support, or submitting a partnership enquiry, you agree to these terms. The Sector3 ecosystem is operated by the Sector3 Foundation Trust.
Your Sector3 Passport
Your Passport is your secure identity across the Sector3 ecosystem. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for activity that happens through your account. Let us know as soon as you can if you think someone else has used your account.
Applying for support
When you apply for support, you agree to provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Submitting an application does not guarantee support — every request is considered individually against Sector3's purpose, the resources available, and our Eligibility governance setting.
Partner enquiries
Organisations may submit a partnership enquiry without a Passport. Submitting an enquiry does not create a partnership or any financial commitment — it begins a conversation about whether and how we might work together.
How decisions are made
Support decisions are made through a stewardship process: applications are triaged, assessed, and a steward may make a recommendation. Where separation of duties applies, a steward cannot approve their own recommendation. Final decisions are made by authorised approvers. Conflict of interest declarations are required before staff participate in a decision.
Using the platform respectfully
You agree to use Sector3 honestly and respectfully, and not to misuse the platform, misrepresent your situation, or attempt to access data or areas you are not entitled to. We may suspend or close access where these terms are seriously breached.
Information and privacy
How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy. By using the platform you consent to the information handling described there.
Intellectual property
Content you create — such as your reflections and journey entries — remains yours. We may use aggregated, de-identified information to understand and report on our impact. Platform materials, branding and design remain owned by Sector3.
Liability
Sector3 provides support in good faith. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from support provided or not provided. This does not affect any rights you may have under New Zealand consumer law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be dealt with in the New Zealand courts, unless we agree otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform develops. We will indicate the date of the last review below. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
